1. What are the problems with the current Mira Loma High School cafeteria?
The problems with the current Mira Loma High School cafeteria is that it was originally built as a cafeterium (cafeteria and an auditorium) when the school first opened in 1960. The Mira Loma High School cafeteria does not serve its purpose because it was not planned very efficiently.The cafeteria is outdated and needs to be renovated. The cafeteria is very compact,plain,and boring. It needs more color and art (preferably student art). Also, the lunch line in the cafeteria were not planned out very well and they are compact. The cafeteria has lost its usefulness when it comes to space.
2. How many students need to be seated and served at one time in the cafeteria?
Approximately 300 students need to be seated and served at breakfast and break. Then at lunch time 450 to 500 students will need to be seated and served in the cafeteria.
3. What is the current capacity(number of people) allowed in the cafeteria?
535 can fit in the cafeteria for lunch. Approximately a thousand can fit in the cafeteria for an assembly.
4.What are the overall demensions of the school's cafeteria?
The cafeteria is 100' by 70'.

a. What do they think about the existing cafeteria and kitchen?
They think that the existing cafeteria and kitchen is very outdated and is not serving the purpose that it could. They have been using the same design and equipment since when the school was built in 1960. They think that the cafeteria is very compact and the lunch lines are inefficient. The cafeteria was not planned out very efficiently. They think that the cafeteria is not serving its purpose because it was built as a cafeterium.
b. What changes would they make to the space if they had a choice?
If any changes would be made to the cafeteria they would like for the tables to be round so there would be more socialization for the students. Music would also be one thing they would like to incorporate into the cafeteria. Students art and more visually pleasing artwork inside of the cafeteria. They would like to change the industrialization of the kitchen. Also, there use to be performances in the cafeteria so if we could incorporate a stage and make it visually and acoustically pleasing.
